What Did Your Pastor Do This Week
This week was the week I was supposed to get over my sickness, but the rain and few bad decisions didn't help all too much. For one thing, I was cold all the time, and the weather aggravated my throat causing me to cough more than I was coughing previously. On top of that, for some odd reason, though my body was still weak, I decided to play a full on five-on-five basketball game. Not only did my legs cramp up pretty badly, my cough got worse. I knew I should have caught up with work and relaxed instead. Still, I really did enjoy this week, and now looking forward to our Bread and Word Fellowship that we didn't have in a long time. Looking forward to a great weekend!
Interesting Happenings
A student looked at another boy's baby picture and after laughing a long time said, "Don't worry, I was once ugly too." I couldn't help but laugh a little.

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week
It's Christmas today! There's a lot that has happened this week. I had the privilege of spending some fun times with my old friends this Sunday celebrating Christmas and playing a gift exchange game and mafia. I also had a painful visit to the hospital because my mom's youngest brother was diagnosed for a serious cancer. It's been years since I saw him and his family. Please pray for him as he is in very critical condition. I am spending Christmas with mom and dad in LA and will be heading back up today. Merry Christmas everybody!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week
He got his orange belt! It was quite an interesting experience. Now that I'm an orange belt, they let me do some sparring and grappling. I had to do a grappling match this week along, and so they taught me the basics along with how to do an arm bar and a kimodo lock. I never thought I'd enjoy Karate so much!
AS for CCS, it's the last week before Christmas so things are getting pretty jolly. Presents are being given, parties are being held; it's quite some fun. I also had the privilege of speaking at our Middle School chapel. That was a blessing. I'm praying that the message will really hit home for the students. I never received so many gifts before in my life. I am very, very thankful. I think I have gift cards that total to around $100 in cash value.
This weekend will be some more fun as well as there will be our church's Christmas service as well as a party at the Lee's! Looking forward to a wonderful Christmas season!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week
I had a lot of fun this week resting and reading. It feels so good to read after not being able to. I picked up an old book called "Attributes of God" by Arthur W. Pink. So far it has been an extremely edifying read. I also had the joy of partaking in Evangel Bible Church's Wednesday night service. There is something so awesome about hearing in person the preaching of the Word. I was thrilled since I do not get the opportunity as often as I would like. This weekend, I will be taking my belt test for Karate. Hopefully, I will be able to skip the yellow belt and get an orange one! Looking forward to a great weekend!
Interesting Happenings
I actually saw my roommate every night this week. RARE... Not only that, we actually talked a lot. Super RARE.... It was quite edifying!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week was a definitely trying. Getting back into work after Thanksgiving with a final on Wednesday is truly difficult. On top of that, having students you love express hate towards you is quite saddening. However, there has been a lot of good that makes the week joyful. I did do well on my Hebrew Final, and I am progressing in my Karate. I am excited for the seminary quarter to be over so I can start reading my own books. Next Saturday, I will be testing for my orange belt skipping yellow belt. This weekend, we'll be having our TYGT planning and vision-meeting. Please pray for us. God bless!
Interesting Happenings
While I was helping out a second-grader with his sparring in our Karate After School program, I was hit unexpectedly in my privates by a roundhouse kick. I was letting the student hit my hands with his kicks for practice, and I looked away to give some advice to another student. I guess the student didn't think we stopped and through one more kick. I never thought I'd experience such pain as a grown adult inflicted by a second-grader. It was the weirdest feeling of "Did this really just happen to me?" It was truly a humbling experience.

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week was quite a joyful week! I started taking a Karate class nearby the school that I work. I would never start such a class, but the instructors teach in my After School Program, and they gave me 3 months for free! I couldn't pass up on that deal! I enjoyed it a lot; it's quite a good work out. However, it has drained me of energy and made me quite sore. As a result, I lost ground in my seminary classes and work at CCS. This will be a very busy weekend for me!
I had also the privilege of grabbing dinner with one of my closest friends from college. He is now a medical school student near my seminary. It was a blessing to discuss all that God is doing in our lives and to see how things change while God does not change. Such conversations and times spent together with believers truly are uplifting, and I pray you are growing to appreciate these moments as well.

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week was a splendid week. I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my close friends and get work done at the same time! Yesterday night I had the blessing of spending time with my sister eating dinner and hanging out with the Lee's. In case you do not know who the Lee's are, Seil Lee is the man for whom I stood as the best man. Him and his wife have been dear friends of mine in the Lord ever since freshmen year of college. The time we spent together yesterday was a wonderful time just eating and watching random tv shows. The presence of many friends has helped me to understand how blessed I am in the Lord. It is a joyful thing to be in the company of friends who love you.
I was thankful this week that my small group members at CCS were starting to get more serious about the time we had together. This week we were going over the trinity. Usually our group will be loud and off topic, but they have been maturing. I am very thankful for that and hopeful that they will grow to love the study of the Word. Some are already!
This weekend seems to be quite busy as there will be many meetings to go to. However, it is quite thrilling and exciting. It is also the first weekend that our assistant pastor will be gone. It was his last week the past Sunday. We'll have to fill his shoes. Please pray for our church!
Interesting Happenings
I went to my favorite McDonald's (favorite because it is close by), and found out that it is closed for some time. I never thought I'd be so sad.

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week was definitely exciting! Though I was sick (must be something going around at Chinese Christian Schools!), I had the wonderful opportunity to hear RC Sproul in Fremont. I will also be seeing him today at a pastor's breakfast. Shaking RC's hands and hearing his Gospel presentation was truly the highlight of the week. Other than that, I had a real nice break because I skipped classes this week due to my sickness. I also had a nice long chat with my roommate, a very rare occurence! Looking forward to the Men's Conference, Titus 2 fellowship, and of course Sunday preaching!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week, I had the nice pleasure of sleeping Friday morning. I usually have to get up by 5:50-6:00 in the morning everyday, so it was a nice a little rest. However, he is still behind in his Hebrew class so please pray for him. Last weekend, I had the privilege of joining some leaders of SFC to discuss their winter conference. It seems like it will be a very edifying time. Please consider going! We are also going broomballing tonight with SJKPC. Looking forward to it!
I also received my laptop stand this week. I think it was a great investment. If you use a laptop regularly at home or in the office, consider getting one!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week went by quite fast! Since my friend has been filling in for me in the pulpit, I was able to catch up with a lot of work that had been piling up. I also started playing the McDonald's monopoly game which is actually quite fun. You get to eat a lot of McDonald's as well. I didn't spend a lot of money this week which is a relief! I'm glad the outflow will stay low for awhile. So many things are coming up that I feel a bit overwhelmed. Please continue to pray that I'll be diligent and get work done. A few things coming up: SFC conference in December, Youth Gospel Trust meeting on November 2nd, exegesis project and final on first week of December, planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas events.
Interesting Happenings

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week was quite a lovely yet trying week. Last weekend, I had the privilege of reading the Scriptures at my friend's wedding in Burbank, Ca, and since I was down south for the wedding, I also got to spend some time with my parents who termendously encouraged and edified me. I came back and spent the Lord's day with my church and on the way back home to Berkeley, I stopped by my friends' place and watched a Japanese drama. It was an enjoyable weekend.
But the week was quite trying. I found myself behind in schoolwork, and I did not have the will to stay up and get it done. On Wednesday, I visited my brother to have dinner, and we had a long conversation about life, money, and ministry. I realized that there's so much to pray for and so much to pay for as well. I was thankful that the Lord constantly places me in a position where I have to contemplate my trust in Him.
I have a lot to look forward to this weekend. I have plans to watch the Phantom of the Opera on Blu-Ray with my friends, and another friend will be coming to preach in my stead this Sunday. It'll be a great way to end this week!

What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
I had a wonderful week spending time with some precious brothers and sisters in the Lord. Started off with a nice dinner with a couple whom I cherish. The dinner prepared before me was absolutely satisfying, but what was more delightful was news concerning the Gospel in a certain country in Southeast Asia that my friend related to me. He was there teaching on the book of Acts. How thrilling! The next day, I had steak with old friends and reflected on God's goodness in the past years. We had an exciting conversations touching on computers to Genesis.
This was a very full week and there is yet more to come. Looking forward to seeing my good friends make their vows before the Lord as they are brought together as one flesh. What a great picture of the Gospel!
Interesting Happenings
Today, one of the 1st graders was telling her classmate, "Hurry up, hurry up!" The classmate in reply, "I'm hurry-uping!" So cute!

Week in Review 10/02/09
What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
This week started off with a bunch of car problems. I had to visit the shop 3 times this week to fix my door handle, horn, and a few electrical problems. Thankfully, they are having Parent Teacher Conferences at school, so I have a four day weekend. That has been a much needed break. I was able to read, memorize scripture in Greek, and work on some vocab. I don't know if that sounds exciting to you, but it is to me!
Yesterday night, I was able to talk with my parents. It's always such a blessing to hear how they are growing in the Lord and managing to"survive" as my dad puts it. Excited to see them next weekend.
Really looking forward to college group starting this Saturday!
Interesting Happenings
I was driving back from seminary when suddenly my car started beeping and the seat warmer turned on by itself! Weird...

Introducing Week in Review
Every Friday morning, I will try to post some thoughts recapping the week and linking some stories and articles that I think are worthy of your time.
What Did Your Pastor Do This Week?
Weekdays are quite busy for pastors. We do not just lounge around waiting for Sunday to come around. Seminary picked up to full speed this week and it seems it will be a difficult year. I finished a book I started a few weeks ago, you can read my review on facebook WeRead app (it's one of the best apps to have on facebook). With that done, I started reading a new book to prepare for New Testament Survey class that will start this Sunday. You should get really excited about that; I am! I will end this week with spending time with our Youth Group at BWF and Saturday morning service.
We also got started on our Middle School Bible study. It will start this week. Because of that, I had to purchase some curriculum, and while I was at it, I made some other purchases. Spent a lot of money this week! Actually, the Bible study kit just arrived! Woohoo!
Please do keep in mind that I also do work 30+ hours a week at a private school. So if it seems that your pastor is not putting in more time for pastoral duties, please do be gracious with him!
Interesting Happenings
A kid at Chinese Christian Schools hurt is toe pretty badly (the nail was almost coming off) because he opened the door too quickly over his bare foot. There was quite a bit of blood. I had to clean him up and carry him to the nurse's office.
